Crazy Double Title Change Leads to a Huge Main Event June 2nd.
5/5/12: This past Saturday night in Providence, RI, PWF Northeast Pro Wrestling presented "Retribution 2012". The main event of the card was set to be a title vs. title match between the PWF Universal Heavyweight Champion "The King of Old School" Steve Corino and PWF Northeast Heavyweight Champion "The Latin Braveheart" Ryan Bisbal. Two referees were assigned to the contest representing PWF Universal and PWF Northeast. Both men pulled out all the stops in the near 30-minute encounter. Corino's ring second and PWF Co-founder Rob Dimension attempted to interfere in the match, as Rich Bass was knocked down. Ivy entered the ring and knocked out Dimension. Corino then sent Bisbal colliding into Ivy. With the referee, Ivy, and Dimension down, Corino grabbed Bisbal for a bridging backdrop suplex. The outside referee Rob Teutel slid into the ring to count the fall, as Bass came to his senses to do the same. While Bass conted Bisbal's shoulders down, Teutel counted Corino's shoulders down. What came next was a great deal of argument and confusion. Bass declared Corino won the match and was the new Unified Champion, while Teutel was attempting to award Bisbal the Unified accolades. Newly appointed spokesperson for the PWF Championship Committee Gino Giovanni was forced to make a hasty decision. Considering the evidence and both referee's decisions, Giovanni announced that Corino was the new PWF Northeast Havyweight Champion, while Bisbal was the new PWF Unversal Heavyweight Champion.
Corino joins a list of champions including current WWE Superstar Johnny Curtis, "The Real Deal" Brandon Locke and "Double Tough" Max Bauer as PWF Northeast Heavyweight Champion, while Bisbal follows in the footsteps of former PWF Univeral Heavyweight Champions Chris Hamrick, C.W. Anderson, Low Ki, Justin Credible and Mike "Simon Dean/Nova" Bucci.
The two men will meet in a rematch for both championships on June 2nd at the Davey Lopes Recreation Center in Providence, RI. There will be no disqualifications, no count outs, and the PWF is stating that one man will walk out as the unified champ.
